    Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Hephzibah Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Matt Munday officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the church cemetery.
    Surviving are his sons, Jimmy Gurley and wife Margaret of Princeton and Dennis Gurley of Raleigh; sisters, Ruth Mathews of Smithfield and Linda King of Princeton; two grandchildren, Heath Gurley of Raleigh and Tara Hester and husband Derek of Princeton and two great grandchildren, Andrew Hester and Avery Hester.
    The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.
    Flowers are welcomed or memorial contributions may be made to the Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 4633 Highway 70E, Princeton, NC 27569.

    In the name of God Amen. I, John Wiggs Sen of the County of Wayne and State of
    North Carolina being vary sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory
    And calling unto mind the mortality of my body knowing that it is appointed for
    all men once to Die Do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner
    and form following viz-------
    First My will is that my funeral charges be paid by my Executor. Also all of my
    just debts
    Secondly I give and bequeath to my son William Wiggs one feather bed and furniture
    3rdly I give and bequeath to my son Henry Wiggs one feather bed and furniture

He is survived by his wife of 50 years LoVetta Hopkins Gurley and his children and grandchildren: Mark, Mary Jo, Kris, and Austin Gurley of Kansas City; Jeff, Sylynda Hannah, Abigail and Nate Bertrem of Tulsa; Matt, Kelly, Hayden and Rachel Gurley of Tulsa; and Philip, Sharla, Meredith, Bailey, Jake, and Sam Thompson of Owasso.
