    Death of James Gurley
James Gurley, one of the oldest and most noted citizens of Gaddistown, died Aug. 9th 1892. Mr. Gurley had been a sufferer for some time from cancer of the throat, and the malady preyed upon his system until death relieved him of his sufferings. Mr. Gurley had been married three times. His last wife has no children, while his first wife was the mother of thirteen, and his second wife three.
Mr. Gurley was one of the pioneer settlers of Gaddistown, having resided there fifty-three years. He was highly respected by his fellowman everywhere. He was a mason, and a member of the Baptist church nearly all his life. He has filled his mission on earth and has gone up higher, we hope, for his reward of a faithful servant, having done his duty toward man and his redeemer.
