     Eliza Gurley Gurley was also known as Edith E. Gurley.² She was born on 28 September 1877 at Nahunta, Wayne County, North Carolina, there are two Eliza buried in a family cemetery one 1878 -1908 another Eliza E. 1877 - 1908.^3,4 She died on 18 May 1908 at Wayne County, North Carolina, at age 30; there are two Eliza's in what appears to be a family cemetery.^3,4

     Alice Belle Gurley was born on 1 February 1885 at Nahunta, Wayne County, North Carolina.^1,2 She married Robert Lee Fitzgerald on 17 January 1906 at Wayne County, North Carolina.³ Alice Belle Gurley died on 13 February 1957 at Johnston County, North Carolina, at age 72.² She was buried after 13 February 1957 at Oakland Hieghts Cemetery, Smithfield, Johnston County, North Carolina.³

     Carl Calvin Gurley was also known as Calvin Carl Gurley.² He was born on 27 September 1886 at Nahunta, Wayne County, North Carolina.^3,4 He married Ophelia Coor after 1906.⁵ Carl Calvin Gurley Corresponded with Justus R. Moll in 1930. As of 8 April 1930, Carl Calvin Gurley lived at Rainbow Farm, Princeton, Johnston County, North Carolina.⁶ He died on 15 May 1966 at Wayne County, North Carolina, at age 79.⁷ He was buried after 15 May 1966 at Willowdale Cemetery, Goldsboro, Wayne County, North Carolina.⁴

     Mildred Ellen Gurley was born on 30 April 1894 at Nahunta, Wayne County, North Carolina.^1,2,3 She married Wiley E. Aycock on 5 October 1915 at Wayne County, North Carolina.^2,4 Mildred Ellen Gurley died on 27 October 1958 at Fremont, Wayne County, North Carolina, at age 64.² She was buried after 27 October 1958 at Charles B. Aycock Cemetery, Fremont, Wayne County, North Carolina.^2,5

     Nancy Ellen Gurley died; died in infancy.¹ She was born after 1870; date is undocumented.

     Hattie Massey was born in 1871 at Johnston County, North Carolina.^2,3 She married Charles Luther Gurley, son of Calvin Luther Gurley and Ellen Jerusha Price, on 14 October 1891 at Princeton, Wayne County, North Carolina.¹ Hattie Massey was buried after 3 September 1954 at Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, Johsnston County, North Carolina.⁴ She died on 3 September 1958 at Virginia Beach, Virginia.⁵

     Hattie Mozelle Gurley was born on 24 April 1893.^3,2 She died on 28 November 1908 at age 15.^2,3 She was buried after 28 November 1908 at Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, Johnston County, North Carolina.³

     Florence Hester Gurley was born in 1892.²

     Charles Harvey Gurley was born on 25 August 1898 at Princeton, Wayne County, North Carolina.^1,2 He married Sadye Reid Morris on 10 October 1923 at Kenley, North Carolina.¹ Charles Harvey Gurley died on 10 July 1956 at Wayne County, North Carolina, at age 57.² He was buried after 10 July 1956 at Williow Dale Cemetery, Wayne County, North Carolina.² The obituary of Charles Harvey Gurley on 13 July 1956 at Goldsboro.³

     Sadye Reid Morris was born on 20 August 1901.² She married Charles Harvey Gurley, son of Charles Luther Gurley and Hattie Massey, on 10 October 1923 at Kenley, North Carolina.¹ Sadye Reid Morris died on 30 March 1968 at Wayne County, North Carolina, at age 66.²

     Henry Gurley was born between 1773 and 1780.¹ He witnessed the legal doc of Rev Joseph Gurley on 27 March 1779 at Southampton County, Virginia; that read as follows... "Joseph Gurley of So'n for love to children Elizabeth Gurley, Henry Gurley, Peterson Gurley, children of Jos. and Martha Gurley, slaves Amey, Joan and Sam after death of Jos. and Martha. Also sorrel mare bought of Jesse Drew, black mare, alll cattle and hogs, hosehold furniture, plantation utensils and all estate, etc. and covenants ... said Joseph Gurley doth consent and agree that in case the said Joseph gets intoxicated with spirituous liquor and uses his family more especially his wife with Barbarity, or appears to be making waste of the above mentioned estate, for William Peterson and Thomas Turner or either of them to take the said estate out of the said Gurley's possession in behalf and for the maintenance of the above mentioned children and the said Joseph Gurley, all the right tile interest properly claim and demand which he hath in the said estate above named to have and to hold .... for said chilren."^1,2,3

     Elizabeth (?) was born in 1735. She married Benjamin Gurley, son of Nicholas Gurley and Ann (?), circa 1755; the marriage is proven by a reference in the Southampton County Will Book to Benjamin Gurley's wife Elizabeth.¹ Elizabeth (?) was a witness to the will of James Wright on 25 December 1761 at Southampton County, Virginia.² She was named a beneficiary of the estate Benjamin Gurley for providing administrative work on 13 May 1762 at Southampton County, Virginia.³

     John Drake was born between 1788 and 1799. He was left a bequest in the will of his uncle, John Gurley of one negro boy on 17 October 1805 at Southampton County, Virginia; Will of John Gurley of Southampton Co. VA

It appoints her sole heir of all property except above legacies and names her the sole executrix. Dated Oct. 17, 1805 Signed John Gurley (his seal) in prescence of John Whitbee, Patsey Drake, Benjamin Edwards, and Littleberry Baines. Probated Feb. 16, 1807.

Inventory of Estate on March 2, 1807 lists five slaves animals, tools, furniture, cooking utinsils, etc.¹

     Amy Holt was born on 14 August 1720.³ She married James Martin circa 1744.¹ Amy Holt died after 1791.³ She and George Gurley Jr. were appointed executor of the estate of his father-in-law, James Martin on 8 December 1791 at Southampton County, Virginia.⁴

     Kinchen Martin was born after 1744. He and George Gurley Jr. were involved in a land transfer when George Gurley bought from his brother in law, Kinchen Martin of Anson County, North Carolina a £18 interest in 145 Acres claimed under will of his father,James Martin (the father-in-law of George Gurley), deceased, to land now in tenure of his mother, Amey Martin (George Gurley's mother-in-law). The resulting transaction provided that the land to be divided after the death of Amey between Knchen Martin and George Gurley. This obviously was very important to the entire Gurley family. Witnesses were John Gurley (his brother), Newit Edwards (his brother in law), George Gurley (his father), Lucy Thomas (his sister), and Patty Gurley (his sister). This deed was proved in open court June 14, 1793 by John Gurley. on 14 November 1792 at Southampton County, Virginia.²

     Thomas Edwards died in 1788.¹
